Working Man – Drama
Category – Movie
Content – When a plastics company shuts down in a small town, leaving many employees without a job, it doesn’t sit well with one working man. Allery sits home one day after the shutdown, and quickly decides this will not work for him. He goes back to the factory, breaks in and starts cleaning all the equipment. Baffled by his actions, his wife Lola tries her best to support him. Allery’s neighbors continue to watch him walk to work, thinking he has absolutely lost his mind. But then, Walter jumps on the band wagon and begins also going to the factory, and supporting Allery’s want to work. And it is not soon after that the entire town is back to work at this shut down factory! This movie is dramatic and tells the story of one working man. A man that doesn’t want to deal with the past, and finds an endearing friendship for the future. A good story being told about one working man, and what he learns about life. This scores an 8 out of 10.
Acting – Allery is played by Peter Gerety, and does a fantastic job as the working man. He plays the older man with ease and comfort. His wife is played by none other than Rocky’s girl Talia Shire. We haven’t seen Talia work very much as of late, and she did a great job playing the confused but supportive wife. And Billy Brown comes in to be Walter, the man who fires up Allery to continue to go to work. Although he has his own issues, the two actors form a bond that will end up being unbreakable. All in all, the acting in this movie is top notch! Score is 9 out of 10.
Duration – 1 hr 48 mins. The dramatic movies tend to be a little long, and this one is no exception. I could see where the movie could have been shortened a bit…But the flow is still good. This gets an 8 out of 10.
