Willy’s Wonderland

Willy’s Wonderland – Horror, Comedy
Category – Movie

Content – While driving in a remote location, a drifter runs over a spike strip which flattens the tires on his car. The tow truck driver ends up saying he can replace the tires; however, he takes cash only. But, the drifter could work off the money in one night cleaning a run down kids restaurant called Willy’s Wonderland. He decides to take the deal, which is – IF you come out of the restaurant the next morning, the owner of the restaurant will pay your car tire bill and you are free to go. He walks inside the restaurant as the owner chains him in. So we get to watch this drifter as he cleans the restaurant, in more ways than one! He is unexpectedly joined by a group of teenagers that want to burn the place down. Together, with his Punch Soda, the drifter makes remarkable strides towards the cleanliness of the once thriving restaurant and fun house. Now, this is a horror film with loads of comedic timing…I just don’t want to give away too much of the surprise inside this joint. I found this movie to be fun and entertaining; although, there is a definite element of “cheesiness” that goes along with it. This scores a 7 out of 10.

Acting – The drifter is played by Nicolas Cage, and as an actor I can see why he jumped on this role. He never speaks (which I find to be ultimately intriguing). He never even had to memorize one line! With that being said, sometimes it is harder to get a story across with facial and body expressions only. But since this is a comedic horror film, that wasn’t too hard to accomplish. The girl, who becomes his unexpected ally, is played by Emily Tosta. She does a great job trying to figure out the dynamics of this drifter and take down the restaurant for good. At least, that is her plan. Score is 7 out of 10.

Duration – 88 mins. This movie is quick to the point, even though our lead actor doesn’t speak. I think the duration is spot on. This gets a 9 out of 10.

TOTAL INDEX for Willy’s Wonderland – 23 out of 30

Recommended Watch – Sure, it’s fun and entertaining. Even with the cheesiness, grab a beer and pizza and watch Nicolas drink PUNCH!!! And do other stuff…LOL
