Wild Mountain Thyme – Dramedy
Category – Movie
Content – Rosemary will do anything to get her childhood love Anthony to love her back. Since they were kids, she has dreamed of loving Anthony. Set in the beautiful rolling hills of Ireland, these two kids grow up to inevidently inherit the family farms, which are located next to each other. While Rosemary continues to pine for Anthony, he continues to hold back. Tony, Anthony’s father, ponders the idea of selling the farm to his nephew Adam, who currently lives in New York, due to Anthony;s lack of commitment and being married. Life moves forward in this comedic drama, and you have to wonder if Rosemary will ever get what she wants? Or maybe a handsome nephew from New York is what she has needed this whole time? I found this film deeply romantic with burst of light comedy that made it delicious. Yes, I said delicious! I just wanted to eat this movie up, it was so fun and entertaining, in a loving way. And the banter between Rosemary and Anthony was priceless…Like a delicious prime rib cooked to perfection. This scores an 9.5 out of 10.
Acting – Emily Blunt and Jamie Dornan were outstanding in this film! While we know they are great actors, this movie showed their romantic depths and quick comedy. It was like watching a dance off at times, the banter was quick and energetic, although in an extremely loving way. I absolutely loved these two together! And Christopher Walken, what a comedy relief performance! He made all his scenes really fun to watch with his quick timing. We also got little glimpses of Jon Hamm, who is always great to watch as well. But the real story here was Emily and Jamie – and what performances!!! Score is 9 out of 10.
Duration – 1 hr 42 mins. While this was a dramatic movie, the comedy thrown in and the back and forth banter made this movie seem like it was too quick! I could have seen more of these actors, so this is a rare time that I think it was too short! LOL This gets a 9 out of 10.
TOTAL INDEX for Wild Mountain Thyme – 27.5 out of 30
Recommended Watch – The Irish beauty and comedic vibe goes well within this love story. A truly great movie that I do believe people will love and should definitely watch!
OSCAR BUZZ – OK, I can see this movie getting some Oscar Love! First, the cinematography was absolutely beautiful, definitely worthy of a Nom. I think the Original Score and music should get a Nom. And yes, the lovely Emily Blunt should get her Best Actress Nom from this one. All in all, I am seeing GOOD things in this film – Job well done Bleecker Street!!!
