Where Sleeping Dogs Lie

Where Sleeping Dogs Lie – Action, Drama
Category – Movie

Content – “Where sleeping dogs lie” is the ancient saying deriving from the long-standing observation that dogs are often unpredictable when they are suddenly disturbed. Yep, that describes this film perfectly. Jeff seems to be in a low point in his life, and owes a lady thug a huge amount of money. When his girlfriend Tracy tells him about the half million dollars her soon to be ex-husband has laying around the house, Jeff figures that a simple robbery can change his life and get him out of debt. He enlists the help of his brother Barry and his good friend Tim to complete this simple task. But, as the saying goes, this robbery is anything but predictable, actually everything that can possibly go wrong, does. A robbery turns into a hostage, a woman in the trunk of a car and even an accidental death (or two). The real question is – Will these three get out of this alive? And with any money? You’ll have to watch this dramatic action film to find out. This scores a 8 out of 10.

Acting – The three robbers are played by Jesse Janzen, Dustin Miller and Tommy Koponen. While I haven’t heard of any of these actors, their chemistry worked well in this botched robbery. Jesse certainly has the acting chops to be the lead in this film. The man playing the home owner, Bob, is played by David Espinosa. Another name I do not know, but he was extremely fun to watch. And the cameo by Brett Rickaby from “The Crazies” was a pleasant surprise! Score is 7 out of 10.

Duration – 1 hr 35 min. Good timing for this film, as there is a mix of action and drama. This gets a 8 out of 10.

***An excellent job by Director/Writer Josh Pierson – Independent films aren’t always easy to get funded and completed. So HUGE applause to Josh for a job well done with this one! And a perfect title that actually describes the whole film – Love that!!!***
