Those Who Wish Me Dead

Those Who Wish Me Dead – Drama, Action
Category – Movie

Content – Hannah has a bit of a troubled past – An incident has left her emotionally bruised. And as a firefighter, one cannot be dealing with demons when your life’s work is to help others. So when she finds scared Connor wandering the woods, she steps up her game to help him. Unfortunately, his troubles are far worse than anyone can imagine. He just witnessed his father being murdered and knows the assassins are after him. While the two men pursue the boy, the create a diversion by setting the forest on fire and tormenting anyone they come across to find Connor. Will Hannah be able to rescue the boy in time, or will her demons prevent that? You will have to watch to find out! There are elements to this movie that are original; however, it is another “save the boy” action and dramatic film. This scores a 7.5 out of 10.

Acting – Angelina Jolie always shines with every performance. With that being said, the character development of Hannah seemed off just a bit. We know she has had a tragic event in her life, but the crying seemed a little overboard at times. Not Angie’s fault – that is the fault of the writers. She still did an amazing job! And Finn Little as Connor was great! He was believable and you really felt for his character and what he was going through. And together, Angie and Finn made a really heart felt team! Our bad guys were played by Aiden Gillen (the bad guy known as Littlefinger in Game of Thrones) and Nicholas Hoult. Both did a good job as the committed assassins that would stop at nothing to get what the need. And let’s not forget Jon Bernthal, who seems to be in every 4 movies being made right now. Kudos to him for continuing to make his career soar. Score is 8 out of 10.

Duration – 1 hr 40 mins. With all the action sequences, the timing of the movie is good. It’s not too long but it’s not too short either. We have to get through the story and this movie does that well with this timing. This gets a 8.5 out of 10.

  1. It was ok….not your “usual” Jolie movie but she did a decent enough job in a mostly mediocre action film. I’m glad I saw it
