The Tax Collector – Action, Crime
Category – Movie
Content – Two men, David and Creeper, collect “tax” from the local crime-lords for The Wizard, who is currently in jail. All is going well until a rival crime lord comes to town and attempts to take over the business. Conejo asks David to split his ties with The Wizard and come work for him; however, since The Wizard is David’s father, he refuses. Conejo takes this refusal as an insult and an all out war begins. David and Creeper are shocked when Uncle Louis is killed and the entire family is threatened by Conejo. While there is plenty of action in the form of gun fights and violent pipe bombs and such, the story line has been done many times. There really wasn’t anything new to the story to make this action film stand out from the rest. This scores a 5 out of 10.
Acting – A couple of things surprised me regarding this film when it comes to Shia LaBeouf. He played the character well for the ethnicity of the role, and that fact that this huge “Creeper” tattoo on his chest is real. Apparently he wanted to “be” the role so he actually got this massive tattoo to encompass the part. And Bobby Soto, who played David, did a very good job as the front runner Tax Collector and leader of his crime family. His acting was solid and believable. Other notable actors in this movie are Cinthya Carmona, Jose “Canejo” Martin, George Lopez, Lana Parrilla and Jimmy Smits. The acting in this action film is actually what keeps your attention. Score is 8.5 out of 10.
Duration – 1 hr 35 min. You get everything you need for this story to play out in just over 90 minutes. This film is not too short or too long. This gets a 8.5 out of 10.

Recommended Watch – This is an action film that has been done before, but if you like Shia or Bobby, or simply want to watch a decent enough action movie, then definitely try this one!
