The Curse of Audrey Earnshaw – Drama, Thriller Category – Movie
Content – A tale of witchery and deception is what you will get in this film set in the 1800’s. While a community suffers from a plague, one household is thriving. Agatha and her secret daughter Audrey use witchcraft and black magic to continue to thrive. But once Audrey comes of age, she doesn’t want to be a secret anymore. She actually wants to stand up to this pathetic town! While her mother disagrees, Audrey has become too powerful in the art of witchery and can no longer be stopped. Audrey drops her curse throughout the town, reaking havic and death at every turn. While this movie is thrilling at some points, it is very dramatic and tends to just linger on at times. This scores a 6 out of 10.
Acting – There are no huge actors in this movie, but I’m always pleasantly surprised when actors are good, even though we don’t know their names. Jessica Reynolds plays Audrey, and does a great job being deceitful and cunning at what she is doing. Her mother Catherine Walker, also does a great job. All in all, the townspeople were good and definitely deserves acknowledgement. Score is 8 out of 10.
Duration – 1 hr 30 min. Good timing for a drama that has it’s elements of thrilling moments. Anything longer and the movie would have been too drawn out. This gets a 7 out of 10.
