Supernova – Drama
Category – Movie
Content – A supernova happens where there is a change in the core, or center, of a star. So when Tusker is diagnosed with dementia, his core has changed. He and partner Sam embark on a journey across England in an RV to visit family and friends. Times are tough for Sam, but his love for Tusker is so strong that he will do whatever it takes to make their life special. Although Tusker has other ideas in mind. Eventually, having too much matter causes the star to explode, resulting in a supernova. And this is what happens to Tusker, he explodes in a way I did not see coming. This is just a beautiful love story between two people, dealing with life’s unforgiving tragedies. This scores a 8.5 out of 10.
Acting – I watched a Q&A where Stanley Tucci and Colin Firth said the script for Supernova was so beautiful that they felt immediately compelled to do the movie. And that is what I would say about their performances – Beautiful. If I didn’t know it, I would say the two were perfectly in love, and their devotion to this movie explodes on the screen. Score is 9 out of 10.
Duration – 1 hr 33 mins. While intense dramas tend to be long, this one caps out at just over an hour and a half. Surprisingly short, but they get everything they need into this timing and I say Bravo! This gets a 9 out of 10.
TOTAL INDEX for Supernova – 26.5 out of 30
