Open Your Eyes – Drama
Category – Movie
Content – Jason is a struggling screenwriter, desperate to fulfill a deadline and complete his latest script. While tediously (and slowly) writing this script, he begins to lose reality. But maybe his reality is not as troubled as he thinks, when he meets his neighbor Lisa. She is beautiful and mysterious, which intrigues Jason. However, strange things start happening again and his reality is again questioned. While this film has many twists and turns towards the end, it is indeed quite slow and begs for a faster pace. The storyline ends intriguing enough, if you can last that long and get there. Might be hard… This scores a 5 out of 10.
Acting – There are a total of two actors in this film, Ry Barrett and Joanna Saul. AND an incredibly plump cat, which reminded me of my boy Paco actually. Ry does an impeccably good job “going crazy” and Joanna tries to get him to open his eyes and see the truth. Together both actors do a good job. The story just needed to get to the “good stuff” much quicker. Score is 7 out of 10.
Duration – 1 hr 39 mins. Too long for the dramatic slow burn. The movie really needed to get to the crazy much quicker and continue along that path. This gets a 6 out of 10.

Recommended Watch – It’s not the worst film (trust me, I’ve seen WAY worse)…But this is a slow moving vessel. If you have that glass (or two) of wine first, it could be an OK watch. The end isn’t bad…You just have to get there!!!
