Knives Out

Knives Out – Comedic Mystery
Category – Movie

Content – This is your typical comedic Who Done It movie. When Harlan Thrombey is found dead the day after his big birthday bash at his mansion, it seems everyone is a suspect. Detective Benoit Blanc begins to interview all the family members and friends, and everyone has strong motive to kill Harlan. One person is cut from the will, one person’s financial means is cut, one is fired and one is cheating. Between all of this anger, who could have killed Harlan? Many have reasons, but as the story unfolds it is just a delicious comedy with many twists and turns. I found this movie to be absolutely intriguing and an extremely fun watch. As I cannot go into too many details, after all, it is a Who Done It film, see if YOU can guess the killer before the end…I know I did not, sadly. This scores an 8 out of 10.

Acting – This is an ensemble cast that is hard to beat. Jamie Lee Curtis, Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Don Johnson, Toni Collette, Katherine Langford, Michael Shannon, Jaeden Martell and of course, Christopher Plummer. With this cast you are bound to get the hysterical looks, the quirky takes and amount of drama and intrigue that you need for a good film. One that stands out is Ana, she has popped up as a definite One to Watch actress. She is believable and caring, and is fantastic to watch on screen. I can’t wait to see her and Daniel in No Time To Die (releases in theaters April 10th). This cast was PERFECT!!! Scores a 10 out of 10.

Duration – At 2 hours 10 minutes, it seems like this would be a tad too long. But the intrigue and comedy flows so well together that the time flies by. You really don’t have much time to take a breath and its over. Long, but good. This gets a 8 out of 10.

TOTAL INDEX for Knives Out – 26 out of 30.

Recommended Watch – Absolutely! This film is deliciously fun! OH – Knives Out 2 has been Announced, SWEET!!!

  1. Yes, Yes, and Yes!!! THIS was a great film, and kept me entertained all the was through on edge as to who done it!! We said. I haven’t seen a family this messed up since “Ready or Not”, Excellent Review! Intrigue, comedy, and just enough on edge excitement indeed!

  2. It hard to get a cast with such big names let the story do the talking, but they did just that. Great movie. One of my surprise favorites of the year!
