Jennifer’s Body – Horror
Category – Movie (2009)
Content – This is not your typical high school movie, in a small town called Devil’s Kettle. Jennifer is a cheerleader who is best friends with a school nerd, Needy. Things go astray when the two go to a tavern to see this band play, but the bar catches fire. The two girls escape through the bathroom window, but Jennifer leaves with the band. And then Jennifer shows up at Needy’s house, covered in blood and throwing up disgusting black goo. Needy knows something is very wrong with her BFF. But she doesn’t realize how wrong, as Jennifer begins eating her classmates. Alone one night, Jennifer tells Needy how that night of the fire, the band tried to sacrifice her to Satan at the falls. And ever since, she has been encompassed by a succubus and is just so hungry. As the killings continue, Needy tries to research the paranormal. But can she stop Jennifer before it’s too late? This one is actually not one of the best horror films out there. This scores a 4 out of 10.
Acting – Look, I am a huge Megan Fox fan, have been since she was in Transformers. But this movie is just lacking, it just isn’t a good horror film; therefore, the acting just isn’t great. Amanda Seyfried plays Needy, and I think her acting is needy. Seems like the girls are almost trying too hard. Other notables are Johnny Simmons, Adam Brody, JK Simmons and Amy Sedaris. The most hilarious casting, and one that I did not remember, is Chris Pratt playing Officer Roman Duda. Too bad the movie is so cheesy, as the cast is pretty good. Score is 4 out of 10.
Duration – 1 hr 42 min. I suppose if you just want to see Megan Fox, the length is OK. But for the rest of us, it’s just too long for a campy horror film. This gets a 5 out of 10.

Recommended Watch – I watched this one for a second time to make sure I could get the review right, and I realize it was one time too many. Yes, I remember this movie was a flop and that did not change the second time around.
