Immortal – Thriller
Category – Movie
Content – This movie consists of four short stories depicting someone’s immortality. First is a high school teacher who is immortal, and kidnaps a student and takes her to a remote location. His intent is to “kill himself” giving the student about a 3 minute head start to escape before he hunts her. Second is Agnes and Brett, a couple who is in dire need of money before Agnes gives birth to their son. Third is a husband and wife, who have been dealing with the highly questionable act of self suicide to avoid pain. And lastly, a man is hit by a car and the driver proceeds to drive off. Ironically the man survives and wants answers. All the stories have a twisty ending that deals with some sort of Immortality. I’ll admit – my favorite was the first one called Chelsea! This scores a 8 out of 10.
Acting – Since these are four short stories, they have the flexibility of hiring a selection of actors. There were excellent names like Dylan Baker and Tony Todd, who both showed their veteran acting status in both roles. Samm Levine did a great job is his role, portraying the confused and determined. Other notable names include Mario Van Peebles, Robin Bartlett, Agnes Bruckner, Brett Edwards and Lindsay Mushett. All the cast did a good job with their respectful stories. Score is 8 out of 10.
Duration – 1 hr 33 min. Each short story is actually 20-25 minutes long, reaching the hour and a half mark total. The timing is fine for this film. This gets a 8 out of 10.
