Homewrecker – Thriller, Comedy
Category – Movie
Content – Michelle goes about her days with normalcy, goes to the gym, yoga, work. While sitting at a coffee shop, working on her laptop, she meets Linda. Although Michelle has plenty of work to do, Linda is relentless and continues with unwanted conversation. Feeling sorry for her, Michelle agrees to come look at Linda’s house for a remodel. Upon entering the door, Michelle didn’t know this day would change her life forever. Linda has actually been stalking her for a long time. She drugs Michelle and forces her to “play games” with her. Through this obsessive comedy, the two interact (all the while Michelle is trying to figure out how to get away). Scenes become violent while the two fight each other ferociously. And a plot twist towards the end explains why Linda had been stalking Michelle. There is a little bloody horror at the end, but this movie is much more of a thriller with interwoven comedy. This scores a 6 out of 10.
Acting – Up until the end, the entire movie is these two women. Linda is played by Precious Chong, who does a good job playing the lonely psycho. Her facial expressions can make you cringe at times, but also make you chuckle. And Michelle is played by Alex Essoe, who does a comparable acting job as the hostage. Both women do a good job at the fight scenes too; although, I didn’t know if I was supposed to be serious or laugh sometimes. Score is 7 out of 10.
Duration – 76 mins. It’s kinda short and sweet on the length. Not even a full hour and a half. This gets a 8 out of 10.
