A Night of Horror – Nightmare Radio – Horror
Category – Movie
Content – Radio DJ Rod hosts a horror type radio show called Nightmare Radio, where he tells terror stories to eager listeners. While he tells the story, the movie explains the horror stories like short films. While each story is it’s own horrific tale, they tend to be a bit boring actually. I found that these couldn’t hold my attention like they should be. Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of scenes that might scare you and enough blood to be horror. After several stories, Rod gets a call from a child in need of help. This does throw an interesting twist in the film, when the young caller says he is at the station. Maybe this story line should have been played up earlier? PS One entire story is in Spanish with no subtitles (and I don’t speak Spanish)? This scores a 5 out of 10.
Acting – The radio DJ Rod is played by James Wright, who does do a good job as the DJ. His voice is soothing while telling these tales of terror. All the acting in the short films are good, which is surprising with lots of talent that we have never heard of before. Whoever cast this one found the right talent for the stories. Score is 7 out of 10.
Duration – 1 hr 40 min. While the concept of this movie cool, the stories tend to drag on and it can be a bit boring. Too long for this one. This gets a 5 out of 10.
